We feel that the businesses of downtown and uptown Palm Springs, California USA should be the role models of our community to encourage a deeper respect of our neighbors and the enviroment and a commitment to a greener community.

GREEN FRIDAY Palm Springs
Overview

• Beginning November 28, 2008  - The last Friday of each month downtown Palm Springs will host a free community event celebrating Palm Springs' commitment to a greener community.
  
• Look for small Green Friday Palm Springs sign in window to show participation
  
• Wear green to signify participation. Some businesses will offer 'extra' specials to those wearing green.
  
• Community is encouraged to walk, carpool, ride bike.
  
• Distribute Mayor Pougnet's 'Path to a Sustainable Community'
  
• Participating businesses stay open until at least 8:00pm
  
• 5-8pm - specials, entertainment, refreshments, eco-products, more
  
• Treasure Hunt with prizes from participating businesses.
  
• Future events to include alternative vehicles, eco-art, building materials, more.
